The Efficiency Increase of Physical Therapy in Obstetrical Infantile Paraparesis Pre and Post Operatory
V. Fărcaş
The present report presents an original method of pre- and post- surgical physical therapy treatment of the infantile paraplegia and deals with a study of a case that was observed for a long period of time. It`s novelty consist in the solution adopted for the correction of the adduced leg by manufacturing and the use with remarkable results of inclined planes (wooden pieces) outwards of the foot, positioning it, both statically and dynamically, in hypercorrection. Then, by the means of an original system, using a gymnastically shoe adapted for pulley – therapy, provided with adjustable weights, there were carried out active resistive exercises by corrective and hyper corrective movements of the foot, both in plantar adduction and flexion. The recorded results, after the use of our treatment, are significant since it preserves a great deal of the positive surgical results during a period of active development of the body.
The Role of Mountain Skiing in Reducing Deficiency of Unilateral Var-Equin Twisted Leg and Twisted Congenital Adduct Bilateral Leg
I.V. Ganea
In the situation of the above deficiency, together with the medical treatments, an important role is played by the medical physical culture and the sport. The skiing, by it’s specificity has and important contribution in the improvement of some leg deficiencies, both before and after the operation. It also helps at the social integration of the children with special needs.
Two Alternative Methodologies for the Physical Recovery of Patients Suffering of Ischemic Heart Disease
R. Şerban, C. Vlad
The purpose of this study is to asses the benefits of two modalities for the physical rehabilitation of the patients suffering ischemic heart disease. Twenty patients have been followed: sixteen men and four women, medium age fifty years were subject to eleven physical training (PT) sessions during a period of three – four weeks. Group A – ten patients with a diagnose of: Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) Angina Pectoris (AP), Atrial Fibrillations (AF), trained continuously on Ergonomic Bike (EB), as well as exercising physical therapy. Group B – ten patients with the diagnose: AMI, AP and Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) and Left Ventricular Insufficient (LVI) trained on EB with breaks as well as an exercising gymnastics. Following the PT the following results have been obtained: Group A – The patients had an average growth of 22 W with the EB. The average charge of 43,99 % and a decrease of Intensity Tension – TIME (ITT) of 14 % compared of the ITT obtained at the stress test (ST) on the same scale of effort. Group B – The patients had an average growth of 10 W of EB. The average charge increased to 34 % and a growth of the ITT with 14 % also. All the patients increased the training time on each stage of effort (25 W 5 – 30 min; 50 W 5 – 20 min; 75 W 5 – 15 min; 100 W 5 – 10 min). As a conclusion, both methods are effective and the second method with breaks used more and more lately is recommended to patients suffering from LVI.

Bobath Method – a Philosophy of Neurodevelopment Treatment
N. Robănescu,
Maria Mertoiu,
Adriana Groparu
The foundation of Neuro – Developmental Treatment (NDT) began in the 1940`s with Dr. Karel and Mrs. Berta Bobath. The goal of treatment must not be to strengthen a muscle that isn`t paralyzed, but to give the patient many sensation about position, tonus and motion. Generally speaking, we talk about a neurodevelopemental treatment. Bobath said: “This isn`t a method, it is a concept of life“; “Give them the help for a better life, not exercises”.
Instantaneous Information on Action Force and Position Change Used in Recovery
Diana Aslan
The paper presents the case of a patient with a trauma induced in a traffic accident. The patient attended a program of occupational therapy and physical therapy in the hospital and then continued with recovery exercising at home. A year after the accident, following the recommendation of the private policlinics “LEEA 2000“ specialists from Bucharest, she came to the Sports Research Centre where she began a recovery program based on using training computerized equipment for top-performance sport – the conditions simulator type ERGOSIM – which provides instantaneous information on the movement performed. Following the exercises, the evolution of the patients power, space and force levels was considered for short periods of time and recovery exercising under the above-mentioned conditions proved to be effective.
Motor and Sensorial Self-Evaluation Instruments in Recovery
Otilia Taga
Self-evaluation instruments of the motor and sensorial evolution are presented hereby for the patients included in a recovery program within the Sports Research Centre. There are drawings representing front and back views of human bodies which the patients must color function of their relative motor and sensorial level, as indicated.
This is an active way for the patients to participate in the program and it is necessary for them to self-evaluate themselves periodically. Using this method we help patients know themselves better and analyze their progress from a subjective perspective, comparable to the elements provided by the ERGOSIM system or other means for objectifying the evolution of their condition.

Theoretical and Practical Interferences in Sport Training of Bodybuilding and Physical Therapy
Al.V. Voicu, Marilena Mercea – Kori,
Anuţa Angelica – Voicu,
Elena Zamora
Both in bodybuilding and in physical therapy people reach the performance by carrying out exercises with the greatest efficiency, using to the minimum the internal forces and to the maximum external ones. Thus, the improvement of the means, in our case of the physical exercises appears as a superior form of adaptation of the human organism to the environment. Another essential condition to obtain the performance both in bodybuilding and physical therapy is that of learning the biomechanics notions. There are interrelationships between bodybuilding and physical therapy. We think that in the future we will find more common aspects between bodybuilding and physical therapy, by close cooperation between the bodybuilding coach and physical therapist.
The Evaluation System of Motor Control in Hemiplegic Patient
L. Kentelki
It`s a well-known fact that traditional muscular and joint testing has a very reduced applicability in central nervous system`s lesion. The following testing method tries to complete the complex evaluation necessary to be performed with hemiplegic patients, evaluating exclusively their motor control (kinetic control). This testing system differs from the other, ADL – type, being equally adoptable at the patient bed, in the gymnasium, in hospital or at home, providing new data about the motility of hemiplegic patients.
The Adolescence and Possibility of Changing Negative Images with Psychotherapy
N. Vandici
The author proposes a model of using relaxation psychotherapy of the purpose of changing the negative self image into a positive self image. This method is emphasized by a great degree of availability and responsiveness in teen-agers. They are got over more developing stages within 5 – 6 psychotherapy sessions, each session lasting 50 – 60 minutes and it is going on at a 2 – 3 day interval. The covered stages reduce themselves as follows :
- the personality psychological examination and the subjects training on the relaxation procedures;
- the ego-strengthening stage;
- the negative image changing stage.

Considerations over Infiltrations with Diluted Alcohol
Ligia Robanescu
Our paper presents the using of the infiltration with diluted alcohol method to the cerebral palsy children. This method is recommended especially in the spasticity of the gamma system where if can give good results. In this paper we want to present that there can appear certain problems after the infiltrations with diluted alcohol, but these can not decrease the therapeutically value of method presented here.
Methodical Considerations Regarding Antero-Posterior Balance of Pelvis
V. Miron
At the level of the pelvis, there work two groups of muscles determining the forward and bock ward, movement of the lower port of the trunk, during the recovery treatment, the muscles can function either in a complete or incomplete flexion. This paper deals with the dynamics of the groups of muscles. It`s main concern is with the postures of the pelvis and the specific muscular procedures, in order to maintain a balance between the anterior and posterior muscles of the pelvis.
Physical Exercise in Support of Insulin Addiction Diabetes
Gh. Popa
The physical exercise increases consume of glucose at muscular level and is very indicated in diabetes, having a beneficial effect on glycaemia. Those, who where performance athletes, with some precautions, can continue their sport activity. The sedentary persons receive the recommendation to begin with moderate physical exercises, taking in account the fact that most of them are overweight. In the application of physical exercise the general health and the age must be taken into consideration. After intense physical effort there is the risk of hyperglycemia. The insulin dependents diabetics can continue with their previous profession. The vast experience of the author with diabetics from physical therapy to real cases in the last two years confirm the fact the physical exercise is helpful for the these patients.
Several Ideas over Sural Triceps Functions
Ligia Robanescu,
Maria Mertoiu,
Adriana Groparu
Plantar flexion is primarily caused by the tow-joint gastrocnemian muscle and the one-joint soleus muscles, they attaché to the calcaneus via the Achilles’ tendon. In normal standing, the gravitational line falls anterior to the axis of the ankle joint, creating a dorsal flexion moment. The soleus muscle contracts to counter the gravitational moment through is pull on the tibia. Other extrinsic feet muscles help stabilize the foot during postural sway. The gastrocnemian muscle is very important also for stations and also for walking.
Clinical Considerations and Physical Therapy Treatments in Cervical Spondylosis
Mariana Silaghi
In the treatment of cervical spondylosis, physical therapy is used only after the remission of the painful statement witch is obtained by rest, therapy with analgesic medicines, inflammatory medicines and physiotherapy. We have had the following main objectives :
- the adoption of some corrective positions
- elimination of the pain
- decontracturation (relax)
- stabilizing the spine
- joint mobilization
- fortifying the muscles

Socio-Familiar Integration of Paraplegic Persons through Active Recovery
Roxana Constantinovici,
Ioana Monica Hociota
The aim of this paper is to show that not only the developed countries, but also our country, can offer the possibility for the paraplegic persons to get reintegrated in the society and in their families. This reintegration does not require any special conditions; the key to success in the affective cooperation of the paraplegic person and his family with the therapist who elaborates the active rehabilitations program. By means of this program the paraplegics will be able to live an independent live. They will learn skills necessary for using the wheelchair, which will ensure them a considerable freedom of movement. This freedom of movement will help them to surpass the social barriers, as well as a whole series of problems arise by their new way of living, as paraplegics.

O. Scobai
Patient P.C. male, Caucasian race and is 20 years old, has a family background of hemophilia. His diagnostics, type B. hemophilia was established at age of 6 years. It was initiated a therapy with specific medication, but in time, develops progressive hemophilic arthropaty, which requires surgical correction. Because immobilization and weight gain, his functional status was seriously affected, with an important limitation of movement. After the complex therapy applied in our clinic (hygienic diet and specific rehabilitation with modern means), under specific drug protection, in a relatively short time (2 months), the patient succeeded in walking with double support on short distance. The rehabilitation program associated with prophylactic therapy must be continued till attaining the final goal: walking support which allows integrating patient into society. A specific rehabilitation therapy has to be initiated in all cases of hemophilia with a possible appearance of hemophilic arthropathy or in the early stages of a diagnosed arthropathy.

A new peptide promises miracles: IGF – 1 (insulin-like growth factor-1) it stimulates the growth of the nervous fibers, thus in-treating the number of connections to muscle cells. IGF – 1 determines the muscle growth and reduces the fat tissue. Athletes use a combination has dangerous side effect (facial nerve paralysis, edema of the brain). IGF – 1 is difficult to detect, because it is a peptide and unlike steroids it is not readily excreted into urine. Officials are reluctant to move into tests, which would provide a better guide to abuse of growth hormone and IGF – 1, because athletes object to this invasive approach. Athletes intent to use anabolic drugs should stick with testosterone, which is cheaper and safer, but it can be detected into urine.

From Medical Physical Culture to Physical Therapy – Concept Evolution
L. Kentelki
This paper treats the problem of physical therapy`s status, its essence, place and role in the modern medical world. There are also presented the specialist`s professional profile and some elements from physical therapy`s theoretical bases as well. According to the author`s conception, movement therapy is a splendid combination between art and work, philosophy and science.
The Distribution of Body Weight to Leg Level and Maintain Arch Plantar
Simona Stanciu, R. Bogdan
The distribution of the body weight between tarsal and metatarsal bones is in principal the leg muscles action result, not being influenced by the leg position or by the direction in which the foot is charged. Muscle action in the one which redistributes body weight both between the five metatarsals and between the metatarsals and the calcareous. Authors opinion like the Mater`s one is the fact that there isn`t a random distribution between the tarsal bones but the fact entirely is responsible by the body sustenance. The concept which states the existence of a longitudinal, lateral and medial arch is not proven. By this preliminary conclusion during walking, body weight is initially sustained by the medial or lateral part of calcareous and then transferred or to the first metatarsal`s head or to the lateral part of the foot. In its second part, this article presents the way in which the arches are sustained by the muscle, ligaments and bones structures of the foot and leg. Our opinion consists in the fact that the principal role is played by the ligaments and bones formation, leg muscle and short plantar muscles are participating at the flattening of the arches only in the moment when the pressure on the arches is increased by changing loading direction of the foot or by walking.
The Instep Massage – Therapy-Reflex in Pregnancy

Applying PNF to the treatment of patients requires that the therapist understands the concepts, learns the motor skills, and he incorporates the approach in activities that meet the individual needs of the patients. This introduction presents the principles of PNF and some examples of application in therapy. The basic principles of PNF, as stated in 1966 by Voss, encompass the developmental concepts as drawn from these fields.
The Concordance of Physical Therapist’s Professional Training with Demands of Balneo-Physio-Therapy Treatment in Spondylosis
M. Berindea
The reason of this work is the great number of patients affected by inflammatory rheumatism among which ankylosing spondylitis hold an important place. These patients benefited by balneo-physiotherapy treatment at the Clinical Hospital of Medical Recovery in Felix. Together with the team I belong to, I made an experiment based an 68 subjects with diagnosis ankylosing spondylitis, hospitalized and treated in this hospital between January 1993-September 1996 . With a view to drawing up the recovery physiotherapy program and following the evolution of the disease and the efficiency of the recovery program, I drew up on the basis of the specific testing methods the individual testing card –table 1- with the record of the obtained parameters. The program was made according to the division of patients in to 3 work groups, having as a starting point the functional class. The subjects having functional classes 1 and 2 -38 in number- were included in the first group. They were characterized by a complete and normal functional capacity, except pain. The subjects having functional class 3 - 16 in numbers – had a limited functional capacity and finally the subjects belonging to the third group having functional class 4 – 14 in number- had an important infirmity. The centralized results of the experiment are rendered in the annexed table.
The Preserve and Functional Reeducation in Spondilosis by Stretching – Theoretic Concept

The joint mobility and muscular elasticity conservation is the second prophylaxis (second degree) in the physical therapy to ankylosing spondylitis. The muscular and joint functional rehabilitation is the tertiary prophylaxis (third degree), which is have right purpose the normal neurology and muscular rests recovery. Concerning the stretching as a method, it can be in the beginning and post effort recovery study, but sometime it can be himself program.

Education by Physical Exercise for Children with Special Needs
Liana Cantor
The number of individuals with multiple disabilities is increasing due to a higher rate or survival among infants born prematurely and advanced medical technology helping keep children with one or more disabilities alive. Furthermore the number of children with one or more disabilities who need a special education is increasing. These figures draw attention to the need for special education in the public schools. This paper briefly describes the instructional and program considerations concerning placement and integration of children with disabilities into the regular physical education program.

Some Opinions about the Physical Therapy Educations
N. Robanescu,
Ligia Robanescu
The authors estimate the actual physical therapy education not quite suited with the purpose. The programs must be much more adapted for the illness and for the rehabilitation. Generally, the program should be a medical one. The pathology, general and special - regarding orthopedy, neurology, pediatric and rheumatology - must have a main place. Also, the students must spend at least six month for every specialty in clinics with such a profile. They – the students - are not destined to replace the medical specialist, but they must be able to work independently : they will not put the diagnosis, but they must know the illnesses and what to do in each case.

This work appreciates the psychological effects of the physical training, the capacity to effort and the adaptation to effort after the physical rehabilitation as well as the suppositional cost of the rehabilitation or non-rehabilitation through the contribution of a group of 32 patients with acute myocardial infarct.
Various Modalities in Response to Acute Effort
I. Miron
Various types of exercise have been employed in effort, with different physiological changes and behavior responses. The style of response – how the subject reacts to the effort, may be emotion-specific. When the arousal level gets too high, impairment of function is the inability to adapt. Stress is the body`s response to demand, but demands can only be defined in terms of producing stress. The physical effort is a solicitation which is not always stressing. Generally the efforts passing beyond 50 % of the maximum functional capacity are stressing efforts, but it can be eustress (benefic efforts) or distress (due to over solicitations).
The Benefit of the Physical Therapy Treatment in Postmenopausal Osteoporosis of First Type
Mirela Dan,
M. Caprar
A group of 35 patients was studied on a presenting postmenopausal osteoporosis type I, having the age between 48 and 75. The principal elements followed in the study were the alleviation of the pains and of the articulator mobility and the increasing of the bones density. The appreciation of the mentioned elements was done at the check in and at the check out of the patients, the medium period of hospitalization being of 18 days. The physical therapy program effectuated was 5 days a week being adapted to the age of every patient and to the patient other illness resistance. In that program was followed the joint sum of the vertebral column and also the resistance at movement. The patients did postural and physical therapy treatment individually, the greatest part of the exercises being isotonic exercises, without resistance or with minimal resistance. Corroborating the clinical data, the joint sum data and the paraclinical data- it was notice an alleviation with 65% of the followed items on the studied group. We consider this significant because the physical therapy treatment is quite cheap. We mention that the study was done on the patients in Baile Felix in the Clinical Recovery Section in the period 1-st January 1996- 1-st January 1997.

This work represents the methodology of approach in the care of applied recovery of the patients having undergone an operation with the diagnosis of uncomplicated pulmonary hydatid cyst. This study had been done for one year`s time in the "Leon Daniello" hospital for pneumophtysiology from Cluj-Napoca in the thoracic surgery department.
The Efficiency of the Physical Therapy in Obstetrical Paralysis of the Brachial Plexus
Cristina Fozza,
Elena Caciulan,
L. Petrea
The experiment had been done on 15 children with the age between 10 days (9 children), 2-3 years (2 children) and more that 6 years (4 children). After the neurological exam, the functional balance-sheet, the somatoscopical exam and the radiological exam a differentiated treatment has been performed, described in this work, following the discussion and interpretation of the results.
Inforenergetics and its Application in Physical Therapy
Dorina Flora
Inforenergetics is considered to be a new science, with a large scale applicability in pathology and in the knowledge of human physical, rational and psychic nature , one of the new frontier sciences of the general human knowledge. The practical way of data gathering are the radiesthesic measurements of the inforenergetic states of being of a living system attached to a certain moment of time in comparison with a standard state of being of the same living system of another living system. The results of the measurements are being given in percentages as there are measurements of comparison, using an angle scale and a specific instrument called "pointer". Infoenergetics has a multitude of applications in physical therapy also. By infoenergetic methods, the optimal physical therapy program for each person in particular can be established, that is: the most efficient techniques, their succession and the optimal combination of these techniques, the appropriate dosage for every case in particular, the right placing of the physical therapy within the general treatment, the certain time of the day when the influence of all these elements is the most benefic, the number of sessions within a treatment. But the most important influence is in completing the kinetic treatment with the infoenergetic treatment for energetic recovery of the whole living system, a recovery that is very important for the structural integrity recover of the human body affected organs, as much as for the remaining function to a normal functioning activity of the systems and organs of a person in pain or suffering.
The Obstetrical Paralysis of the Brachial Plexus
Robanescu Ligia
This work presents an approach concerning this pathology, the clinical exam, the evolution of the case and the physical therapy treatment on different levels in the first three weeks, the initial period, and after three weeks of life up to three month and forward.
The Updating of the A.T.E. System of Description of the Physical Therapy Exercises
M. Chiriac
Physical therapy as a science needs a specific terminology, which includes the medical terminology together with the terminology of physical education and sports. In this work the author reconsidered the describing of the kinetic exercises in the A.T.E. system (Activity – Techniques – Elements) and proposes a variant which includes many possibilities for every part of the three sections.

It tries to bring extra information about the differences in the movement control capacity for different types of subjects: teenagers with light mental deficiencies, children sportsmen and teenager’s sportsmen with normal intellect, having the same chronological age. The importance of the experiment is about the fact that the data come from subject, covering a large aria of corporal activity. The results obtained and their interpretations are presented in the enclosed graphics the present paper work.
The Utilisation of Asia Classification for the Evaluation of the Patients with Recent Cervical Vertebro-Medular Trauma
Anca-Sanda Mihaescu
In present paper work presents the description of ASIA classification used for the evaluation of the patients with recent cervical vertebro-medular trauma, which was introduced in our country in 1994. The Frankel classification is also presented with 5 degrees, which in association with ASIA classification offers a neurological standard classification for vertebro-medular trauma. Because the complete evaluation of the patient involves an evaluation of their daily activity, it is also presented the measurement of functional independent (MIF) based on 6 functional areas. The paper work encloses a model for files for these classifications.
Occupational Therapy for Vertebro- Medular Trauma
Daiana Popa,

Physical Therapy and Orthosis after Anterior Cruciate Ligamentoplasty
Camelia Dima
The anterior cruciate ligament is a delicate structure with effects in knee biomechanics. In the recovery context after anterior cruciate ligamentoplasty, the physical therapy and orthotics develops like individual, stage process with well determined functional ending and objectives. The modern recovery supports the superiority of the isokinetic contraction in the physical therapy programs and the use of the orthosis made from thermoneopren. A personal research made in the Physical Medicine Balneology and Medical Rehabilitation Clinic from the University Hospital Bucharest, on a group of 32 patients indicates a better response at the treatment from patients aged between 21- 30 years old, who had worn orthosis, without any associated injury.
The Recovery of the Quadriceps after a Total Knee Prosthesis
L. Tăbăcaru
This study allows the confirmation of the important role of biofeedback as a support for re-education in the recovery of muscular force. Making the note of interests in working with biofeedback for the muscular recovery, comparative with a classical re-education, we wanted to estimate the efficiency in a couple of interventions for the mounting of knee prosthesis. The speed of quadriceps recovery was studied, this being the main muscle responsible for the extension of the knee. The studied evaluation parameter was the active extension vs. resistance. It has been established that the manoeuvres for facilitations and classical therapy are insufficient to give the patient the consciousness of his muscles. Also, compare with the witness lot, the effect shows twice faster in the group with biofeedback.

Congenital Muscular Torticollis
Ligia Robanescu
Considering the fact that the congenital torticollis is a frequent affection which can be later associated with complications, the present paper- work proposes itself to present a few aspects regarding the definition, aetiology, clinical exam, and differential diagnosis. A special attention was given to the treatment at birth and during the nurseling stage, as well as to advise that have to be given to the parents for taking care of this children. At the end are also presented aspects concerning surgical treatment and re-education with Milwaukee girdle and with Minerva fixed.
Trombophlebitis and Physical Therapy
Isabela Lozincă, Doriana Ciobanu
This paper-work has as a main theme the trombophlebitis as well as Physical Therapy applied in this affection. In encloses a few ideals about the trombophlebitis as affection- definition, the main symptoms, the stages of the disease – being largely described the Physical therapy treatments applied in each of the three stages – acute, stabilization, convalescence. According with the objectives of the three stages, the treatment encloses massage manoeuvres and passive mobilizations as well as active mobilizations and respiratory exercises for the purpose of the venous circulation. The paper-work also contains an example of an exercise program used in the physical therapy treatment of the trombophlebitis.
The Power of Suggestion and Physical Therapy
N. Vandici
The author approaches the phenomenon of suggestion in the conscious of mind within the background of therapist-patient relationship. References are made to the physical therapist’s ability to impose, trough the force of utterance, of his empathy level and manners of rehabilitation, changes in behavior and faith with the benefic purpose of recuperation and elimination of physio-pathological symptoms. The main factors are analyzed that are involved in the process of suggestion and the basic characteristics regarding the suggestive stimulus are emphasized as well as the patient’s suggestiveness and suggestive reaction. The factors influencing the suggestiveness are represented both by certain characteristics of the specialist and by some situational parameters: the environment n which the patient lives, the nature and the gravity of disease, the therapist-patient emotional relationship, the paramedical knowledge, the personality alteration due to disease, etc. The response to suggestion in defined by certain personality variables concerning the degree of plausibility established by the patient, his transposition ability, the subject’s compliance and appropriation of the ideas suggestion.

The Place of the Physical Therapy on the Physical Activities Science : Systematical Approach
Doina Mârza
Why the "Science of Body Activities" ? Because, in our domain, the use of the terms "the Science of Sport", "the Science of Physical Education" and even the term of "the Science of Physical Education and Sport" is too restrictive and it limits drastically the number of its components; in this case, either the Physical Therapy does not find its place or it transforms in an applied part of Physical Education and Sport, which can not admit. Because of this reason it seems to me that, the term of “Science of Body Activities” suits better by the perspective of including the Physical Therapy, while its systematic approach enables faster and easier understanding of these aspects.
The Preparation of the Physical Therapy Students for the Sport Rehabilitation

In their future career the athletes and sportsmen need to know much more about rehabilitation process. In this printed matter I intended to emphasize the necessity of knowing a lot about sports activity phenomenon. According to this the physical therapist has to know about the main sport structure, the position in team evolution, the specifically training structure of athletes and health status before and after injury. All this kind of details needs to be known a long as the physical therapist has to do a complete recovery schedule.

The Effort Characteristics of the Sports Done by the Persons with Motor Handicap
Cosette Minculescu,
Elena Buhociu
In the examined group, we included the persons with post-traumatic paraplegia with spinal injuries, both males and females, with ages among 19- 32 years. The recent researches conjuring the effort’s characteristics feature (on the types of the efforts solicited by the varied sportive branches and disciplines) proved that the training must be lead different from the normal subjects. In some studies of wheelchair athletes, the average cross-sectional area of type II fibres has reached 16,000µm, about three times the value seen in non-disabled athletes. One interesting consequence of this gross hypertrophy seems to be a relative delusion of muscles enzymes, so that the concentrations in oxidative and glycolytic pathways are both low or at the best average values. In conclusion: we noticed a reduction of the adaptable capacities at the athlete in a wheelchair as part of maximal endurance sports (wheelchair marathoner).
V. Schor,
Daniela Stan,
I. Stupineanu
The Prognostic Signification of the Descent of Neurological Level at Persons with Cervical Spinal Cord Traumatisms
Anca Sanda Mihaescu
Following a study conducted on 22 quadriplegic patients injured at the fifth cervical vertebra hospitalized in the Rehabilitation service of the Emergency Hospital “Prof. Dr. D. Bagdasar” during the years 1995-1998, we wanted to follow the meaning of the neurological lesion level descent during the first three months following the injury, on the patient’s ability and it’s correlation with specific factors (age, other lesions, simultaneous disabilities, educational level and motivation, the support he gets from his family) using the score difference of the ASIA scale obtained at successive examinations and the passing to another category in the FRANKEL classification.

Methodological Approach of Rehabilitation of the Posttraumatic Injuries of inferior Limbs at the Sportswomen
V. Miron
Performance sports activity is continuously submissive to some high physical solicitations, which it shows through micro traumas. Those problems which are collected in time with other major traumas will cause muscle and joint sequels. First parts which suffer from the micro traumas are the inferior limbs and because of this the preventive and recovery program is pointed to this area. I can tell that the efficiency of the used means and the prologue of the sports activity, over critical age, are included in the general and particular recovering of the inferior limbs principles. Those objectives are underlined by preventive and appropriate methodology of the illness treatment, just before these rises. Following those treatment strategies, I can say that sports activity is progressing in measured items and could be integrate in the preventive well directioned programs.
Possibilités de prévention des traumatifs du judo
Lăcrămioara Manole, Andreea Popa, V. Manole, Gh. Bejenaru
The Rolle And Importance of Physical Prevention of Menisc Injuries to the Handball Players
V. Manole, Liliana Topalescu
The incidence of the muscular-joint accident frequent in the performance handball requires a special approach of the training before and after the competition in order to repair the organism selectively in relation to the demanded efficiency. Considering only the problem of the great frequency of the internal meniscus lesion, assessed on a group of twelve handball players, the work has a guiding mark the biomechanical analysis of the most important proceedings which are parts of handball, starting from which a whole series of indications sending to the physical preparation specific to handball players for the efforts itself and its ending are debated. The work doesn’t want to dispute the method of getting physical condition adopted by the performance sportsman, but to suggest some essential aspects by which morpho-functional integrity, in circumstances of physical over solicitation, are maintained. Prophylaxis Physical Therapy in performance sport, by its means and methods, may contribute to the prevention of the muscular-joint accidents.
V. Manole,
I. Topa,
Elena Topa,
Viorica Persoiu,
Anca Petrescu
- le massage, l’électrothérapie et la thermothérapie locale est utile symptomatique et aussi pathogénique;
- la kinétothérapie par la métodologie complexe individualisée ( mettant en evidence la méthode Kabat, le straching type Bob Anderson) aidée par les nouvels appareils: Gimnastik-Ball et l’appareil type Kettler ont un effect bénéfique pour obtenir les objectifs du traitement rapidement;
T. Vlad,
Rodica Topa,
Viorica Persoiu,
I. Topa
